Summary
Take the wheel in a role that keeps our operations and customers moving. As an Oil Delivery Driver, you will safely and efficiently operate a tractor trailer to transport bulk liquid products between company and customer locations. You will manage drop and hook, spotting, and equipment exchanges while ensuring timely, accurate deliveries and smooth loading and unloading. As a key representative of the Perdue Farms brand, you will deliver professional service, uphold safety and compliance standards, and play a vital role in supporting reliable supply to our customers.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maneuver and deliver/backhaul truckloads of bulk products to plants, customers, and distributors as assigned.
- Observe and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements regarding hours of service, logbook, vehicle inspections, load inspections, and securing load.
- To include utilizing electronic logging device (paper logs when needed), on board vehicle tracking system in efficient manner.
- Operate a tractor and trailer in a legal/safe manner consistent with all Federal, State and Local laws, regulations, and Company policies.
- To include the utilization of all on board safety features.
- Complete and submit all Company paperwork to include but not limited to manifest, bill of lading, proof of delivery pays envelopes, overage, shortage, damaged claims, and trip reports.
- As assigned, the physical process of loading and unloading of products may be required.
- Responsible for seal integrity and the reporting of an accurate /verified case count and condition of product during deliveries.
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Valid Class A CDL License with a tanker endorsement.
- Minimum Two years over the road Tractor/Trailer driving experience with tanker experience preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Strong communication skills.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
