Summary

Join our Agribusiness team in Salisbury, Maryland and gain an inside look at how engineering drives real results in a dynamic plant operations environment. This 10-to-12-week Engineering Internship offers an immersive, real-world experience where you will contribute to meaningful projects that support operational performance, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and operations teams to analyze challenges, develop practical solutions, and share insights that help move the business forward, all while building foundational skills in engineering, project management, and professional communication.

This position has a target wage of $21.90 - $28.13 per hour, based on graduation year. Overtime may be available. 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop scope for a high-impact engineering project.
• Analyze cost estimates and propose viable solutions to improve business operations.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Assist project managers with active and developing projects.
• Learn and apply project management methodologies used at Perdue.
• Help track timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Support operations, maintenance, and operational technologies teams.
• Participate in troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives.
• Organize engineering and project files across multiple locations.
• Maintain version control and ensure accessibility of key documents.
• Create and refine presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Communicate technical concepts in a clear, engaging format.

Minimum Education and Experience

• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year institution pursuing a bachelor's degree.
• Degree in Engineering capacity.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

• Able to move freely throughout the agribusiness facilities including climbing vertical heights (0-150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 lbs.), exposure temperatures (0-100) degrees Fahrenheit, humidity (0-100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
• Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus.
• Required to travel to remote agribusiness facilities and customer locations.
